Dayyy-uuummmmm

I've had a couple of things this week that made me just say, "Daayyyy-uuummmm!"  I've been sitting out on the call floor since I've worked ahead in the training manual.  Yes, believe it or not, a lot of call center employees have to take a long training class.  Yesterday while out on the floor I was talking to my mentor about his bonuses.  He made more than $700 last month.  That's almost another check!  I loved listening to how he presented the opportunities to the callers.  Dayyy-ummmm.  He has mad skills yo.

And now the one that kind of makes me feel bad (but not really).  I've struggled the last few months to make sure we had a roof over our heads, electricity, and food.  My church really stepped up and helped with groceries.  The lady that owns the trailer park is working with me on back rent.  I've been blessed beyond comparision.  We've not really lacked anything.  We've always had just enough.  When my ex left, he told me that if we needed help with anything just ask.  Needless to say, he hasn't helped even when I asked.  I don't have any family that can help me.  My parents are retired and live on a low fixed income.

I go back and forth between feeling bitter and being happy that he left.  I don't like the circumstances, but I don't miss the insults or the fighting.  The kids don't miss it either.  Anyway - I've felt angry at times because he puts his girlfriend's wants over his kids' needs.  Then yesterday I found out the following when he asked ME for money (that I don't have):

1. He lost his bank account due to overdraft fees.
2. He is being sued in civil court.
3. His electricity is going to be cut off.  The bill gets mailed here to my PO Box and I had to open it because we get 2 electricity bills and I had to find mine.  He owes more than a thousand dollars...for a month!  Mine is $300.

I am struggling with my mixed feelings.  I feel bad for anyone going through a hard time.  I also believe that God seeks justice for His children.  I believe God lets bad things happen to good and not so good people.  I don't find it a coincidence that I've had just enough for months and now he's sinking faster than a cement anvil.

Anyway - off to work with me.  I hope to start blogging more and venting more in the future.  I'm having problems with my internal lady bits and on pain medication.  That should make blogging fun!

Gah

So I spent part of my day at the ER. My lady bits be hurtin' on the inside...and out of the lady bits, I only have one bit left.  The finality was that I have to see a lady bits doctor because where the pain is....there's nothing there (literally).  So it's probably scar tissue.  Either way it sucks monkey balls.  I'll keep you posted....because I know you just can't live without knowing about my lady bits drama.

employed

So I am now gainfully employed.  I work in a call center.  Don't worry, it won't make me go postal.  It's inbound for a major bank.  Why did I take it? Aside from the shitty economy, my mommy's birthday is coming up and as old as she is it was either get a job or take out a small loan in order to buy enough candles.  Additionally, I'm sure I'll need some kind of burn permit since we are in a drought.

I start Tuesday.  I work 10 - 7.  They have an internet cafe.  So 90s.

Life Rules #672 & #9000

Life Rule #672 - Never trust the government.

I know that one seems like a no brainer.  I applied for an Executive Assistant position and the company called me and asked that I apply for a Legal Secretary II position with the state.  They told me to drive to the city (an hour) to take the test because I was "completely qualified".  So today I left my two sick kids and drove the hour up there this afternoon.  It was my SECOND trip to the city today.  I get there and I was told that they aren't taking any more testers today and they don't test on Friday....and of course they are closed Monday....and the position closes Tuesday.  They called ME for it.  It's not like I just saw it and came up there last minute.  I went because the assholes asked me to come.  I even got all fancied up.

Life Rule #9000 - Never smoke during a fucking burn ban, you asshole.

Oh - and there's a big ass wild fire near my house...about three miles away.  The good news is that it's moving away from my house.  The bad news is that the fire started at the high school from a dumb ass that was smoking outside and threw the cigarette into the field.

BFG

I was inspired by this story.  It reminded me of one of my favorite stories.  My older son is 13 and when he was about five he was taking an online video game quiz.  His dad was reading the questions to him and the kid was getting them all right.  The last question was: What does BFG mean? Without missing a beat he shouted, "BIG FUCKING GUN!" and then clamped his hands over his mouth after he realized what he said.  I thought I would die laughing....and he thought he was going to die from embarassment.
